Provista ‘Villa’ and ‘Euro Slat’ for apartment re-clad
As part of a partial re-cladding project Provista Balustrade Systems have provided a bespoke balustrade solution combining two products into one to create a stylish and practical solution to the project.
The re-clad project, at Ascent Apartments in Nelson Street Auckland, was completed by Modus Construction who had had previous experience with the Provista team, so again called on them to discuss and design a suitable balustrade solution for the multiple apartment decks.
Modus Director, Colin Bird, advises “the deck refurbishment required new deck membranes with a floating tile system. A concern with this was how to hide the tile jacks and parapet detail at the deck edges. The answer came in the form of Provista’s own ‘Euro Slat’ aluminium rectangular profile which would be used as a horizontal screening to cover the structure beneath. Custom-made corner brackets were also adopted to provide a seamless look and finish to the Euro Slat screening”.
The main deck balustrade would be Provista’s ‘Villa’ aluminium baluster style solution, powder-coated in Silver Pearl finish to match other finishes on the building. The handrail used throughout was the ‘Retro’ rectangular profile being an ideal shape to match the form of Provista’s Post, Euro Slat, and Baluster profiles. The upper decks featured face-fixed posts with completely hidden fixings.
The Villa and Euro Slat balustrade solutions look great when used individually, or together, providing a very pleasing look whether a home or commercial project is classic or contemporary in style.
The new, re-clad exterior of the Ascent Apartments provides a fantastic, fresh and modern look to the building, the balustrade and screening complimenting the overall look and design.
Colin Bird concludes “we were very happy with the advice, design and performance of the Provista team on this project and feel the solution works in very well with the building design and finish.
Provista Balustrade Systems solutions are compliant with all NZ regulations and suited to A, B, E and C3 residential and commercial applications.
