Provista ‘Tudor’ Balustrade for new Housing NZ development

Provista ‘Tudor’ Balustrade for new Housing NZ development

Provista Balustrade Systems has installed Aluminium vertical baluster-style balustrades to the decks of 16 new Housing NZ Corporation apartments in a three-block development in New Windsor, Auckland.

The apartment blocks and other new dwellings on the corner of Hertford and Holbrook streets provide 29 new homes as part of housing densification in the area. They feature modern exteriors combining low maintenance materials with clean lines and complementary colour combinations. The balustrade features a Gull Grey powder coat finish in keeping with other screening and cladding solutions that are integrated into the balustrades on the buildings.

Having used Provista solutions in previous projects the designers, Context Architects, specified Provista’s Tudor Framed solution to provide a stylish balustrade to the second and third levels of the apartments in each building. In keeping with the design of the building, the solution also features a ‘Retro’ rectangular handrail profile. The depth of the floating-deck structures required extra-long posts to be used, so Provista’s strong ‘Ultra’ post profile was utilised which also allowed acceptable post spacings to be retained. The Ultra post range is specified for use in Extra High wind zones as standard.

Provista Framed solutions are very adaptable to different building types, looking great on modern or classical structures and, in this case, have provided a practical, low maintenance and modern solution that compliments the design and look of the apartments.

David Bullen-Smith, Project Lead Architect at Context concludes “the balustrade looks great and the Provista team provided prompt and good service as they have in the past”.

Provista Balustrade Systems solutions are compliant with all NZ regulations and suited to A, B, E and C3 residential and commercial applications.
